Documentation, presented in a non-linear, performative
way using slides, images found online, objects and a special guest. The text "God
Gives Almonds to Those Without Teeth" is
a rather gothic sounding old spanish proverb. We built sounds from a documentary
recording of an old woman cracking almonds, and cracked more on the spot.
The wine pouring was mixed with a recording we did of the Port wine testing
in Porto done in a scientific laboratory. The audience had the wine after
the performance as usual in an art context, except it was on stage, and after
thinking about wine production so important to Porto.

Wooden string instrument maker Sr. Machado joined us to play one of his small
Portuguese Cavaquinhos. We recorded him constructing the instruments,
it sounded
like
conceptual
music, so we thought it was perfect for him to come play a short traditional
tune in the context of "avant guard" art.

The situation was to be a cross over between performance/lecture/presentation/slide
show/concert.
