Chance, random and pseudo-random numbers, taste, and how they relate to modernist indeterminacy, casino aesthetics, luck, bootstrap meritocracy,
the Californian Ideology, and social (rock) climbing.
Bootstraps. Custom embroidered Prince Albert style slippers overseen from London, and hand-made
by Spanish shoemakers, pulled by their bootstraps with climbing rope.
Bootstrapping. Bone throws, watercolor drips and Wisconsin lottery tickets scratched aesthetically, on painting of Baron Von Munchausen extracting himself
and his horse out of a bog by pulling his own hair. Framed ink-jet photo, lottery tickets, wood, shells and paint.
Lucky Star. Constellations of the zodiac made with roll-playing dice on stretched raw linen, framed with climbing rope aesthetically sprayed.
Casino Carpet. Handpainted “casino carpet” random pattern generated by tossed coins, on industrial carpet remnant.
Poor Tax. Stretched gentleman’s suit linen with lottery tickets scratched aesthetically, and paint transferred
from flipped coins, framed with camouflage gun barrel gauze.

0 - 100. True random number generator. Programmed Arduino microchip and Adafruit display embedded in a rock climbing hold. A true
random number is generated every 5 seconds based on fluxuations of magnetic fields.
